Tasmanian devil upgraded from vulnerable to endangered
In all the political talk of the past few days, we've forgotten to point out the fact that the Tasmanian devil's conservation status has been upgraded from vulnerable to endangered.
That announcement was mixed in with recent days' postings and can be found again in this article in which political party The Greens Tasmania again urges the state government for more funding, to the tune of $10 million per year.
The party is urging the state Minister to approach the Treasurer for funding urgently: "It needs an urgent funding injection and it needs it now ... It's not good enought for the government to address the tasmanian devil requirements as part of the normal budgetary cycle."
