State Government believes funding is enough
Primary Industries Minister for the Tasmanian State Government, David Llewellyn, says that funding for devil facial tumour disease research will be adequate from now until the end of the financial year (June 2008).
The statement is in contrast to the opinion expressed by the leader of the government rescue program, Professor Hamish McCallum, who has repeatedly called for additional funding.
The State Government's announcement comes on the heels of the Tasmanian Greens Party backing Professor McCallum's call for urgent funding just two days before the Federal election.
