More devils headed for mainland; breeding to increase
Yesterday's announcement clearing a Tasmanian devil at Victoria's Healesville Sanctuary from any infection of DFTD will lead to an increase in interstate breeding of the species says Dr Steven Smith.
Additionally, there are plans to send additional stock across from Tasmania to the mainland. A number of devils have been held in quarantine in Tasmania since being captured from the wild at the beginning of this year.
